Christmas in Marrakech

Ahh Sunday night feeling we meet again. I cannot believe tomorrow will be the start to my third week back at school since Christmas. It feels like ages ago I was in beautiful Marrakech enjoying some time off and ignoring school work. Oh well, reality was going to arrive sooner or later. Anyway, as you probably guessed from the title, this post is all about my lovely Christmas in Marrakech.

This trip was my second time in Marrakech, but the first time for my dad and brother. I previously went in summer, and I way preferred going in winter due to the sunny yet not boiling weather. Although I've only been there twice Marrakech is definitely one of my favourite cities. One of my most-liked locations in the city is the Souk.

The Souk is absolutely stunning. You can buy almost everything in it and all of the items are so unique and beautiful. A trip to Marrakech would not be complete without a day in the Souk, or in my case a few.

Another incredible place in Marrakech is the Majorelle Gardens. These stunning gardens were just as breath taking the second time, and I cannot wait to back next time I'm in Marrakech.

Since the 80s the gardens were owned by Yves Saint Laurent and his ashes were spread across them when he passed away. To commemorate him there is a lovely memorial.

In the gardens there is also a gallery called Galerie Love displaying many of Yves Saint Laurent's works of art throughout the years.

On my first trip to Marrakech we did not venture up the Atlas mountains so I was desperate to this trip. Luckily so was my dad, so convincing the rest of the family we took a day trip up into the beautiful mountains.

Whilst visiting a Berber village in the mountains we go to see how the famous Morrocan Argon oil was made, and I'll tell you it is not easy to stir that contraption.

Later that day, after wondering around and visiting a mini waterfall, we had a late lunch at a hotel with a beautiful panoramic views of the mountains.

The trip was absolutely incredible and I am so grateful to be able to visit such amazing places.

I also vlogged everyday of the trip, so if you're into that medium and want to check out what we did everyday here are those videos -
