Orange Is The New Black, stess and Scoff & Banter

First things first, (I'm the realest... lol jokes) the order of topics in the title is not going to coincide with the layout of this post. Just to let you know upfront.

Now, for the apology. School finishes this week and next week I have an SAT exam course. BUT, the following week I promise posts will be more regular. I'm very stressed and I have not been up to anything too exciting. I did jump back on the blogging bandwagon and decide to take photographs last weekend when I baked some cookies with Lucy and her sister Annabel; yet somehow iPhoto has decided to misplace those photos. If that isn't a sign to stop over documentation then I don't know what is. However, that will not stop me.

I did not think it was possible, but I do think I am more stressed now than I was during the exam period. Going to university open days and sorting out my EPQ and thinking about the future is scary. I'm in a sort of situation where I have so much to do I cannot do any of it. So I feel the best thing to do is eat berries (which are fabulously in season) and watch Netflix.

As a mini celebration for the end of exams Tara, Lucy and I had a lovely dinner at Scott & Banter in Covent Garden.

Above Tara wears a shirt from Yaya, jeans and jacket from Topshop, Converse shoes and Ray Ban sunglasses. I'm absolutely obsessed with these pictures of Tara. I'm so jealous of her long legs! To me these pictures could easily be a model street style. Below Lucy wears a shirt and jeans from Zara, Prada bag and River Island shoes.

I wore a top from Urban Outfitters, silk vintage shorts, Nike shoes and my beautiful new Anya Hindmarch bag (details on this stunner coming soon).

All three of us opted for burgers and we were not disappointed one bit. I had no idea what to expect of the restaurant and I really liked it. There wasn't much atmosphere due to it being a Thursday night but I'm sure on a weekend it has a really nice buzz to it.

Following our burgers we took a lovely stroll down to Snog. You may or may not know this about me, but I have a slight intolerance to dairy. I try to eliminate it from my diet but when it comes to desserts I find it so difficult (and I did have cheese on my burger lol). More often than not I put my sweet tooth before my dietary requirements; probably not the best decision but sometimes it's worth it. Snog is one of those times.

Thankfully, with no help from iPhoto, I do have some photos from baking with Lucy and Annabel, and some very cute ones I might say.

Although the cookies ended up being rather crispy biscuits and we all wished we had just ate all the cookie dough instead of putting them in the oven, the afternoon was so cute and we'll know what to do next time... If there is a next time.

On the topic of baking, I have made a deal with myself that when I have a free day in summer I am going to bake/cook something healthy that abides to my dietary requirements. I assume this will mostly be dairy free treats however, I think sooner or later I will have to tackle something savoury as I have absolutely no idea how to do anything except toast and pasta.

I had to include the picture below and it deserves a proper explanation. A couple of friends and I volunteer at an old peoples home once a week, we play music and just have a general chat with the people there. Last week Eva had nail varnish in her bag so we decided to paint some of their nails. This picture of Eva painting Irene's nails makes me so so happy. I am so glad I captured this moment, it was so cute!

Eva had terrible blisters from sandals, hence the slippers. As expected she received many compliments.

Now onto books and TV. A couple of days ago I finished 1984 and I really enjoyed it. Having a really strong interest in history, particularly 20th century history, I found the similarities to the dystopia created in 1984 really fascinating to compare to regimes such as Mao's China and even various dictatorships and  structures in oppressed countries now. I really don't want to ruin anything if you are planning on reading it, it is such a difficult book to summarise and describe; but I would highly recommend it. There is also a stage adaptation currently on in the West End that I'm going to see in summer, so I will keep you updated on my thoughts on that.

Hawaii Five-0 is my guilty pleasure. I don't watch any of the other shows that are similar, such as NCIS, just Hawaii Five-0. I don't know what it is, I just love it. Sadly the season has finished and I'm feeling slightly heart broken. My Sunday nights are now completely free, causing the dread of Monday morning to be even greater. Not too much to say on this topic matter I just felt I had to include something about the show.

Orange Is The New Black. Oh my god. Where have I been?! I started watching this fabulous series two weeks ago and I have already finished season 2. I absolutely love it and I think if I end up with too much spare time on my hands in summer I will be rewatching it. The characterisations are fantastic and I am just obsessed. If you don't want it already you have to. Seriously, take my word for it. Now to start Breaking Bad...
