The Best Burger in NYC

Burgers are plentiful in New York, but if you really want to go for it and get the best DB Bistro Moderne is definitely your place.

This wonderful creation has made the restaurant famous, and having tasted the burger I can say that this is with great reason.

It is a sirloin burger filled with braised short ribs and foi gras, surrounded by a black truffle parmesan bun, and it is of course sided by some lovely pommes frites.

As much as I love a fancy restaurant, dressing up and feeling important; when it comes to food I don't really get too adventurous. I know what I like and that is it. As a child I was very fusy, and although I don't consider myself to be that way now, there is a line I won't cross.

A foie gras burger isn't necessary something I would usually gravitate towards but it came highly recommended by numerous people so I thought I should give it a try. I am so glad I did because, oh my god, this burger was incredible.

Whether you are a burger person or not, this is definitely a must.

My mother and I shared two dishes. In addition to the burger we ordered the swordfish which came with asparagus, potatoes and tomato confit. If you're slightly scared of the burger, I would definitely go for this.

We also got a side of peas and carrots which were lovely.

Bread is a great way to judge a restaurant, so of course I had to try all of the different types.

I approve of all, and I definitely approve of the tapenade.

For dessert we went for one fruity and one chocolatey.

The rhubarb buttermilk vacherin was pretty good, but in my opinion it was nothing on the molten chocolate fondant. I'm definitely a chocolate person though, so perhaps I'm biased.

We ended the meal with some herbal tea before heading home after a long day.

Due to it's location the restaurant is a prime destination for theatre goers. They ask all of their guests if they're seeing the show, and if they are they will make the meal speedy and stress less. There is nothing worse than being late and missing the start of the show. Being late also encourages hate from all the people you disrupted on your way in which is also something ideally avoided... Lol but it's true.

My outfit:

You would have thought it was October in New York, not the end of April! This thick leather jacket was my abolsute savior during the unexpected weather in Manhattan.
