The Steps of The Met

I'm here, in New York, for the next two months doing an internship in Manhattan! Jealous? As you should be. Haha, but seriously, I'm so happy and excited to be here for the start of my summer, finishing off my first year in America at an extreme high.

More on the internship later, I am only one week in.

My mother flew out to Boston to help me back up my dorm room. Once 6 boxes were put in storage and an embarrassing amount of bags were filled, we piled everything into the car and headed to New York.

I had a week to chill before my internship started, but chill we did not. I thought I'd start the recap of this week with our trip to The Metropolitan.

It was my first time at The Met, and the first time in my new sunglasses - which I was very happy about, and it definitely did not disappoint.

Being the Gossip Girl fanatic that I once was, and not so secretly still am, photos on the steps of The Met were an absolute must.

All I needed was a yoghurt and a circle of minions around me. Minions like Blair's, not Gru's yellow ones - which to be honest I wouldn't mind as well.

We headed into the museum and went straight up to the roof, as instructed by a friend.

I may be wrong in saying this, but I think the roof of The Met is one of the best kept secrets. It was pretty quiet up here yet the museum was packed.

You get a stunning view of the park, that surrounds the back of the building, as well as the craziness that is the Manhattan skyscrapers.

My outfit:

I didn't take many pictures inside of the museum but I did take a couple in the incredible exhibition 'Manus x Machina'.

This exhibition displayed haute couture pieces and ready-to-wear, and looked at the distinctions between these two elements of fashion and how they differ.

I would highly recommend going to see this is you're in New York!
