Weekend in Paris

It seems every time I post these days they begin with an apology about my absence... I will not bore you this time, but know that I am trying to be better.

Last weekend Joe and I took a lovely trip to Paris.

We arrived on Friday around lunch time, jumped straight onto the metro (which I absolutely love) and headed straight to the flat.

We dropped off our bags and headed for the Champs Elysees

We had a lovely early dinner before heading home for an early night filled with chocolate covered strawberries

^ Outfit for the second day. Dress from Altar'd State.

After a little lie in on Saturday we made a trip to a lovely food market. All the colours were so pretty, although I could've have done without seeing numerous dead animals with their heads and feet still intact.

Following a very sweet breakfast we took a long stroll down the Seine

We arrived at the lock lock bridge and of course could not resist purchasing our own little lock.

We then browsed around the grounds of the Louvre before heading for lunch.

Following lunch we headed for Notre Dame before taking the metro to the Charlie Hebdo offices

It was very moving to see all the flowers, candles, posters and everything surrounding the offices and I'm very glad we went to have a look. Would highly recommend it if you're in Paris to get a feel for and pay your respects to the tragedy that occurred.

We then took the metro back to the Champs Elysees, browsed around for a while before picking up some sushi for dinner and heading home (perfect evening in my opinion).

^ Third day outfit. Top and jeans from American Apparel.

Following another lie in we got up and headed straight for the Arc de Triomphe. The sun was shining making me very excited to be able to whip out my sunglasses.

After lunch we walked all the way down the Champs Elysees to the La Grande Roue (Ferris Wheel). It was so lovely to be able to see Paris from such a height and it was so much fun.

Following some rather sickly candy floss we headed for the most wonderful place on earth...

....

LADUREE.

Yes, we have Laduree in London, it was just very exciting for me to be able to go in Paris. It was definitely worth waiting in the long queue (though I am not sure Joe would agree).

After buying (and eating) copious amount of macaroons we headed to the flat to get our bags and then went to the station to come home.

Although it was a short trip it was absolutely perfect. I cannot wait to be in Paris again, hopefully sometime soon! (hint hint... Joseph if you're reading this...)
