London for Christmas

London will always and forever, truly be my home. I’m a born and bred Londoner. However, this past semester I’ve really settled into Boston and it’s where I currently feel most comfortable. My college is there, my friends are there, and truthfully my life is there. My life is no longer in London.

I’ve had almost a month off for winter break and it’s actually been quite bizarre being in London for this long. I have a week left at home, London home, and to say that I’m ready to go back to Boston would be an understatement.

This desperation to go back to school is not a feeling I’m familiar with due to my negative outlook towards school when I was younger. But of course Boston is so much more than school, it’s my new life.

This transition period of moving away from home, growing up, meeting so many new people, forming new relationships and so on is kind of scary. Growing up is extremely exciting but absolutely terrifying. I like to plan everything out and know what’s going to happen, but that just isn’t plausible with the big picture. I’m beginning to understand and accept that despite it being difficult.

On a rainy evening the other day, my friend Georgia and I were strolling through Soho and came across this fabulous lighting store, which almost seemed to be a cafe - if this is the case I absolutely must return. I hadn’t been having a great week, I was fed up being at home and was missing Boston. Strolling through the rain in Soho and coming across such a unique and beautiful place really allowed me to rekindle my love for London. To rekindle my love for my home. London is such a special place. There’s nowhere like it and I’m so incredibly lucky to have grown up in such an open minded and forever bustling city.

I'm so happy that this special little moment happened in my home town, and the fact that it was rainy really adds to the cinematic nature of it all.

Growing up in London forced me to learn to love the rain. It taught me that as long as you're prepared, you can face any situation. Why should rain stop you from going out? Put on a raincoat and some reasonable shoes and off you go.

If you follow me on any form os social media you will know I have been absolutely OBSESSED with my silver coat, the coat you see me wearing in these pictures. It is from the Tommy Hilfiger collaboration with Urban Outfitters and it is honestly stunning. It is so warm and puffy! I ordered this on Black Friday to London, but of course could not retrieve it for a month or so because I was still in Boston. I feel as if when I first purchased it I was very ahead of trend but since I'm only just getting to wear it I'm slightly behind, however I can assure you that not one ounce of care is given. I've been in this coat pretty much everyday and I LOVE it. If you don't feel bold enough for the silver they also have it in navy, which to be honest is most definitely on my wishlist.

More photos to come of my full outfit!

London you are stunning.

Aren't these pictures absolutely fabulous? Carrying a camera around with me constantly really does pay off.

Here are a couple of my favourite shots I took of the beautiful Georgia.

  2. I've lived in London my whole life too and I agree, it's one of the best cities to have grown up in because of the multiculturalism and diversity there is here. This store looks so cute, I'll keep my eye out for it next time I'm in Soho! And that puffer jacket is amazing ahh
