Roots & Bulbs (+ outfits)

This is to be the part one post of my fun filled day with Eva

We started the day with lunch at Roots & Bulbs in Marylebone. We were aiming to go for brunch however, as expected we only got there at lunch time. I have wanted to try Roots & Bulbs for ages now and I'm so glad I finally got around to it. Eva and I were very impressed with their juices as well as the desserts. The wraps that we got were nice but we were still a little peckish after finishing, hence our little visit to Ca'paccino which I will talk about in the second post.

Dairy & Gluten Free Brownies

recipe for you on the blog today, and hopefully the first of many. I'm not that in to cooking but I really really want to be. I feel that starting with desserts may be the key to finding my passion in the kitchen.

These brownies are dairy and gluten free, and they are soooo good.

Shakespeare In Love

To celebrate my step grandmothers birthday, my mother, auntie and I took her to see Shakespeare in Love at the Noel Coward Theatre. Prior to the play we had lunch at Cote.

Healthy Meal + Outfit

I often struggle to eat healthily in the winter. Hot carby meals and chocolately puddings are just far more appealing to me when it's frosty outside. Despite these factors I am trying.

Update in Photos

I feel like I say this far too frequently, but things are crazy at the moment. It's prime time for university applications and I have my SAT coming up. Nevertheless, half term is just around the corner which means many more posts.

However, to keep you all in the loop I thought I'd do a little update post through some of the photos I've taken recently (some not so recently) with little captions. So here goes...

FrightFest & Petit Bateau

First things first...

My most recent, and most exciting purchase, has to be this beautiful Petit Bateau raincoat. Not having a raincoat and living in London has often caused me large problems. So my mother and I decided to resolve this issue and in the most wonderful way possible.

Little Princess Trust

A couple of months ago I decided I was going to cut my hair and donate it to the Little Princess Trust. With much anticipation the day finally arrived for me to get 10 inches (!!!) cut off my hair.

The Little Princess Trust is a fantastic organisation that makes donated hair into wigs for children suffering from cancer. I also surpassed my goal of raising £500 for the charity along with my hair donation which I am very happy about. My justgiving page is still live so any donations are still very welcome.

I'm afraid that the photos from the day are fairly minimal as I was very focused on having my glamorous assistant Eva film it for me. I'm really happy with how the video came out though I'm not sure how well it captured the tense yet overwhelmingly happy environment that was created at Daniel Galvin Junior.

Worthing/Brighton Photo Diary

For a long weekend in summer my family and I travelled down to Worthing for my brother to take part in a tennis tournament. The first day of the tournament was rained off, so we drove into Brighton. We explored the lanes and had a lovely stroll along the pier

I absolutely love Brighton and wish I got to go down there more often. I think it would be such a lovely place to live, the lanes are so cute and you can't really beat living on the coast.

Tea & Science

On a sunny London Sunday, Kim and I decided to venture South of the river to the Science MuseumYou must understand that being North London born and bread this was not familiar ground.

Edinburgh Festival (+CUTTING MY HAIR FOR CHARITY)

It's that time of year again.

Time for the Edinburgh Festival

Going to Edinburgh every summer at the start of August is always my favourite trip of the year. Having so many shows, artists and different cultures all in the same place at the same time is so exciting to me.

If you ever get a chance to go to the festival I would highly recommend it.

As I have been filming a lot this summer I did make a video of the few clips I filmed over my time in Edinburgh -

Folk By The Oak (+results)

Before I begin this post, I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone who received results yesterday. I despise talk of results and exams on social media but I think a couple of things have to be said. Congratulations to everyone. Whether you received excellent or not so great results. For me, they were my AS levels so in my opinion, which is the truth, they are not the be all and end all. I'm happy with my results despite one result which was quite a shocker.

Everyone should be proud of how they did, if you didn't do so great - like me in one of my subjects, I think it's something to laugh about and take with a pinch of salt. It tells you that things don't always go your way; nothing will always be perfect. It would not be fair if it did.

I may be slightly more relaxed about my results than most as I am applying to university in America, so even though they are still important, these results are not vital. Anyway, this is turning into a slight meaningless rant, but to conclude; one exam, that you wrote on one day - that could've been an off day, marked by someone who knows nothing about you, that is just a letter grade should not and does not sum up your life and you as a person.

Onwards with the post (my chums - Miranda anyone?)

Towards the beginning of summer Amber and I went to Folk By the Oak. Folk By The Oak is an all day folk festival with lots of vintage stalls and fun arts and craft tables.

We went for some fun and that is exactly what we had. Although very tiring in the heat we made some great purchases and enjoyed the music.

Saint Lucia Photo Diary

I wanted to start this post by saying bonjour, but then I realised that is how I began my previous post. So, in an attempt to mix things up a little bit; good day to everyone. I haven't blogged for around two weeks, I've been away, then home, then away, then home, but all the time exhausted and jet lagged.

My trip to Saint Lucia was amazing. It was extremely relaxing, due to the fact my mother and I made full use of the spa, and I came back feeling very rested. I no longer feel this way having just spent six days at the Edinburgh festival, but it was great while it lasted.

Due to its relaxing nature I didn't take too many photos, however, here is a photo diary of the ones taken. I also filmed, occasionally, and compiled the clips into a short video so feel free to check that out -

British Summer Time in Hyde Park and other summer excursions

Bonjour, I hope the summer is treating you well and you are not melting away in the sun but staying hydrated and getting a beautiful tan. So far summer is great and it's only looking up. Next week my mother and I are off to St. Lucia for a week and then I'm off to Edinburgh with my parents for the festival. Although I do have a lot of work and reading to do I'm hoping that being on a beautiful beach will make it all slightly more bearable.

Last Sunday Amber and I went to British Summer Time in Hyde Park. It was such a lovely day, the sun was shining and it was so much fun. Here's the video I filmed that day -

Summer Has Commenced

Summer has commenced. Unfortunately my first week of some what freedom is an SAT prep extensive course. I'm just over half way through and I'm exhausted, it is a lot more intense than expected but also a lot more fun and enjoyable. Due to the course I had not been documenting too much so I am going to share photos from my first afternoon/evening of summer enjoyment with Lucy.

Orange Is The New Black, stess and Scoff & Banter

First things first, (I'm the realest... lol jokes) the order of topics in the title is not going to coincide with the layout of this post. Just to let you know upfront.

Now, for the apology. School finishes this week and next week I have an SAT exam course. BUT, the following week I promise posts will be more regular. I'm very stressed and I have not been up to anything too exciting. I did jump back on the blogging bandwagon and decide to take photographs last weekend when I baked some cookies with Lucy and her sister Annabel; yet somehow iPhoto has decided to misplace those photos. If that isn't a sign to stop over documentation then I don't know what is. However, that will not stop me.

I did not think it was possible, but I do think I am more stressed now than I was during the exam period. Going to university open days and sorting out my EPQ and thinking about the future is scary. I'm in a sort of situation where I have so much to do I cannot do any of it. So I feel the best thing to do is eat berries (which are fabulously in season) and watch Netflix.

EXAMS ARE OVER!

It's been a while. I apologise. But things have been pretty crazy. Exams are over and I went a little freedom crazy and made far too many plans. I've now ill in bed after being back to school for two days feeling very poorly (I think I have tonsillitis).

I vlogged my fun filled week following my last exam so feel free to check out those vlogs on my youtube channel. I am also going to be vlogging for a large proportion of the summer so stay tuned for that.

Art Show (+food)

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to my lovely friend Amber's first art show at Ice Tank Studios. The evening was so lovely and such a success; all the photography and short films were fantastic. To read more about the process of putting the event together and the work on display you can check out Amber's post as well as the post on the event on the Motel Rocks Blog. The purple light that flooded the venue was so pretty and created the perfect atmosphere.

Atlanta photo diary

WARNING: Many photos.

During the Easter holidays my family and I went to visit our lovely family friends in Atlanta. It was such a nice week filled with food and shopping, and a little bit of revision for me; I can't wait to go back and live off Waffle House and ice tea again. Many photographs, and a few videos, were taken throughout the trip so I thought I would compile them all together with captions for a nice visual post.

Isabella Blow, update & Easter

This post is overdue. Extremely overdue. So here goes. On the final day of the exhibition, I went to the Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore! exhibition at Somerset House. The exhibition was really interesting and inspiring. It was so cool to have an insight on Isabella Blow's life and to see more information about her family and background. Being such a unique person and having such an artistic lifestyle everything in the exhibition was fascinating and I am so glad I got to see it.

Behind The Scenes: Blood Moon

A couple of weeks ago, just a few days before the film wrapped, I went down to Kent with my Dad to the film set of Blood Moon, a film he's producing. The film is of a Western Horror genre and even being in the town of Lassiter, where the film is set, was often a bit creepy. Spending the whole day on set was so fun and definitely got me excited, and nervous, for my future. The film is currently in post and I will let everyone know where they can get their hands on it when it is available.

We arrived on location at 6am and got out of the car to be greeted by bitter cold winds and a walk through a mud filled field to get to the trailers. Being my first day on set I loved this struggle however, members of the cast and crew were not as thrilled; it's all part of the glamour of show business.

Update: Brick Lane gems, macaroons & recently viewed films

This weekend I had a lovely day in Brick Lane; wandering much further down than I usually go and finding some lovely little gems. The sun was shining and it really felt like spring had sprung.

Celebrating My 17th Year

First things first I would like to apologise for my ridiculously long absence. Life has been crazy. Mainly with school and mocks but also with the general happenings of life. Now onto the topic of this post; my birthday. On the 12th March it was my 17th birthday. I am not usually one for excitement on the annual day that commemorates my birth, however, this year there was a slight bit of excitement running through me. Although this could just have been the anticipation for the amount of Krispy Kreme's I was to eat out of the three dozen purchased by my mother.

Farewell To January

Oh my goodness. I cannot believe January is almost over. What a crazy, exciting and stressful month it has been. I have many little bits I would like to share and considering my stress levels I'm just going to lump them all together.

The other day my friend Amber and I went to BFI Southbank to see the London themed SAF Shorts. They were all fantastic and very inspiring. I wish I could have all day to write and film but school.

Christmas in Marrakech

Ahh Sunday night feeling we meet again. I cannot believe tomorrow will be the start to my third week back at school since Christmas. It feels like ages ago I was in beautiful Marrakech enjoying some time off and ignoring school work. Oh well, reality was going to arrive sooner or later. Anyway, as you probably guessed from the title, this post is all about my lovely Christmas in Marrakech.

This trip was my second time in Marrakech, but the first time for my dad and brother. I previously went in summer, and I way preferred going in winter due to the sunny yet not boiling weather. Although I've only been there twice Marrakech is definitely one of my favourite cities. One of my most-liked locations in the city is the Souk.

starting 2014

The other day my friend Amber and I went to Brick Lane to photograph for a Street Style on our new blog Cryptic Arabella. Go over to Cryptic Arabella to check out all the pictures we took. Here are a couple of my favourites -
