First Thanksgiving in NYC

So I am currently chilling in bed, in a duvet burrito, having just paused Ferris Bueller on Netflix. I haven't been feeling too well this week so I've been having a pretty relaxed weekend and am going to venture into the world to get myself some comfort food in a bit. Now that I have excellently explained my current situation, I thought I would look back on my first Thanksgiving in America.

I met my parents in New York, along with multiple family friends, and although it wasn't quite the rest I desperately needed it was a great trip.

I made a little video from the trip and have placed a convenient link here if you have any interest of watching it -

Homework Response to Essena O'Neill

This week I had to do a homework assignment responding to something that I essentially disagree with and explaining my own perspective on the topic at hand. This is known as 'forwarding' - if you want to look it up as I explained it terribly. It was an ungraded assignment, so it was fairly short and sweet, but I found the article I chose to 'forward' very interesting and something I feel quite strongly about.

Unless you have been living under a rock for this past week I'm sure you've heard of Essena O'Neill; the 18 year old social media star who has decided to quit social media due to the false facade she was portraying of herself. O'Neill claims that she was miserable, and this being the case shows that her decision to rid her life of her unhealthy relationship with social media is a positive one and will hopefully improve her life and make her much happier. However, what this incident has done is highlight so many negatives of social media. These negatives are of course valid but there are so many positives that are often pushed aside because of people having experiences such as O'Neill.

Anyway, the main purpose of this post is so share my homework response, not continue to comment on the issue. So here it is (bare in mind this is an ungraded assignment so I did not slave away on it, don't be mean pls) -

another lengthly update

Hello world! It's me again!

Time for another ridiculously long life update from me, as I have neglected this blog yet again... I'm going to try and be better but I think my excuse is valid. College in Boston has begun! I'm loooving it but I am spread pretty thin, so many rehearsals, so much homework and very little sleep is occurring.

So, what I'm going to do in order to catch everyone up, as well as reflect on this crazy time myself, is to start with the all the new things in Boston and then finishing by wrapping up what I got up to at the end of summer.

hvar

This post is extremely long overdue. I'm currently sitting in a hotel lobby in Boston. Tomorrow I get to move in to my uni room and I have so many blog posts in my drafts I think it's time to blitz through them all. So here goes.

At the end of July my school friends and I spent a week in the Croatian island Hvar. As I have made a habit of this summer, of course I vlogged snippets of the trip and here is the video diary of the holiday I produced -

We were in Hvar for a week and I have never visited anywhere so hot in my life. Our suffering in the heat was not helped by a lack of air con in our hotel and the only for of a cooling system being some rather worse for wear fans. Luckily we did survive.

Lisbon & NOS Alive

Hello there! Long time no see... Apologies for that, however, in my defence I have been rather ill this past week.

Anyway, let us rewind a couple of weeks and look back on my trip to Portugal with Amber

MANY SUMMERY THINGS HAPPENED

This post is somewhat of a little update of what I got up to this week.

The least summery thing I did, due to it being inside, was going to the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A. I went with Amber and we both really enjoyed it. Not only were the clothes absolutely stunning, the presentation of the whole exhibition was beautiful. Every room was so different, with quotes on the walls and lighting and music to create different atmospheres.

Mad Hatters Brunch

Last weekend Amber and I attended a Mad Hatters Brunch. It was a rather confusing affair to begin with, as documented in my vlog which I will link at the end of this post, yet when we finally (emphasis on the finally) arrived it was so so lovely.

London Pride

On Saturday (27th July) Joe and I ventured into town, like many many others, to join in with the festivities of London Pride. We started at Baker Street where the parade began and followed it on the beginning of it's journey down Oxford Street.

Poorly Documented Summer Begins...

I am now officially on summer and finished with school! And I must say it is glorious.

I finished my exams on the 15th of June, and so far summer has been pretty relaxing, a relax that was very much needed. I want to get straight back into blogging this summer and document all my experiences and thoughts, however, this desire and goal has not been successful thus far. In order to kickstart my enthusiasm and, hopefully, creativity, I thought I would ease myself in slowly with a little photo update due to my embarrassing lack of detailed documentation of the start of my summer.

Just before my last exam it was my Mother's birthday. So on the Friday before her birthday we headed off to the hairdressers, with some revision in my bag of course, and had a lovely time sipping smoothies in Daniel Galvin Junior followed by some serious shopping.

summer

I am currently sitting in bed, face mask on and waiting for my bath to run.

It is most definitely one of those days where everything is going wrong; I got set two essays, I got caught in the rain and my avocado was not ripe. Oh pity me pity me pity me.

Due to my current house ridden state owed to exams in a mouth, as you can imagine, I am longing for summer. So I thought instead of keeping my longing inside, I would share it with you. So here are some strong images from tumblr that are keeping me going until I can experience summer first hand (starting the 16th of June!!!!!!).

Do acknowledge that my summer is of course not being to be as glamorous as these photographs.

The Big 18 (part 2)

I apologise for the delay with this post, things are pretty crazy with revision and such.

Onwards with the post...

To continue the birthday celebrations Joseph and I went to dinner at Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill.

The Big 18 (part 1)

Lily and Serena on a bday day - xoxo Gossip Girl

A couple of weeks ago it was my birthday. I'm not usually one to get excited for a birthday, at all, yet this year I did feel elements of anticipation in the days leading up to the big 18. I think I just knew that this year was going to be good, and I was definitely correct.

Weekend in Paris

It seems every time I post these days they begin with an apology about my absence... I will not bore you this time, but know that I am trying to be better.

Last weekend Joe and I took a lovely trip to Paris.

Mistletoe & Wine

Hello there.
Remember me?
...
Yeah, me neither.

I do apologise for my absence. Things have been pretty crazy, not only with a Christmas and New Year filled with food, family and friends but with a vast amount of revision for my mocks next week.

As you can probably tell from the title this post is all about my Christmas. I must say it is extremely photo heavy, so let's think of it as more of a Christmas photodiary. I was thinking of splitting this post into two but I decided to throw all this Christmassy goodness at you and then get on with the New Year which is most definitely going to be fabulous
